The Orchestra (4)
Here are the videos you have had in the previous lesson. Let's listen to the first movie first. Then please do some reviews in the second movie.
You will hear all the parts all 5 times in this movie now.
I believe you have gotten along with all 5 parts now, so just enjoy singing all or your favorite part(s) with this movie!
"Bolero" by M.Ravel
I share this beautiful movie made by the New York Philharmonic musicians last year.
The music is starting with the snare drum very softly, and various musical instruments join one by one, just like you have been practicing in the previous lessons with "The Orchestra" song.
The Orchestra (3)
You have one more part with a high range of voice so I recommend you to do some warming up before you start. Go for it!
Violin is a string instrument. the strings are sounded either by drawing the bow across them or by plucking them. In this song, it sounds like played by the bow.
One by one...
You have learned all 5 parts.
In this movie, you can hear all the parts are adding one by one. Please try to follow the direction in this movie and sing all the parts in order.
Beethoven Symphony No.5
2020 was the 250 anniversary year of Ludwig van Beethoven, one of the greatest composers of all time, and his Symphony No.5 is absolutely one of the most famous not only in his work but also in all of classical music.
How many instruments can you find in this music?
The Orchestra (2)
Today you have Trumpet and Clarinet part, getting complicated melody, please practice with the repeating. If you feel hard to sing in Do-Re-Mi or lyrics, remember, you can just try to sing with mimic the sound of each instrument like "pa papa pa", or "la la la".
The Trumpet is also a brass instrument. it has a higher range than French Horn.
You can see the Clarinet is also a wind instrument, however, looks a bit different from French Horn and Trumpet, it is a woodwind instrument.
It is starting with the sound of Trumpet
You also had a video of this music with the "Line-Riders" version in lesson 2!
The Orchestra (1)
This is your new song "The Orchestra", please listen to this movie at first.
There are 5 kinds of musical instruments in it, can you recognize all of them?
If not, no worries at all, you will learn what do each instrument sound like one by one individually.
Drum is a percussion instrument, it can be said to mean a set of "timpani" in this song.
Please take a look the first movie, someone explaining about the timpani and you can hear what does the timpani sound like, and then, move on to the next movie. You will have just 2 notes (Do and So) in this part.
The French horn is a brass instrument.
Do you remember you had a "line-rider" video with the music from " Nutcracker" in lesson 14? You can often hear the sound of French horns playing the main melody in "Waltz of the Flowers". This part is staying on the same note (So) all the time in this song, so it is not hard at all!
Can you find French Horns and Timpani?
Finding Timpani would be tricky... please focus at 2:13 on the left side of the screen, you will find it!
